Leila Crain

Leila Crain graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Music Education and received an M.A. in Special Education from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She taught public school music in Missouri for two years and was a Cross-Category Special Education teacher in the Centralia City Schools for 27 years. Leila has been affiliated with the Centralia Cultural Society as a member of the Centralia Philharmonic Orchestra for many years. She is currently involved in Orchestra management and serves on the Society's Board of Directors. As Coordinator of the Arts & Education program, she has administered school artist residencies, multiple live performances for over 4,000 students annually, and five National Endowment for the Arts grants supporting live touring group performances. She has also coordinated a visual arts program for local schools and assisted in the development and implementation of fine arts curriculum for the Centralia City Schools.
