Why apply for the scholarship? I would tell anyone who had a thought about applying to just do it. You never know whether you will get it or not, but it's better to have tried and not gotten it than to have not applied and regretted the decision not to.
My Story
This scholarship helped kickstart my education. I used it to relocate to California and purchase a laptop for classes which allowed me to start college stress-free. I have discovered different ways and paths to help me fulfill my desire to be in the arts. I originally wanted to be a studio artist who would make money off of their own work, but found I have a passion for wanting to teach people about the importance of art and art preservation as well. I would like to work in museums and galleries with the intention of preserving and restoring art that needs to be given a second chance for the public to enjoy. I recently received the Plotkin Award, a scholarship that gave me the opportunity to showcase my work in a gallery and I continue to be busy with classes and internships.
