My Story
I am currently completing my student teaching semester at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and am on-track to soon graduate. It was because of this scholarship that I was able to attend school this semester, complete my degree and become a music educator. When I began my music studies, the original intent was to teach band at the high school level, but as I continued I discovered my love for many different types of music. Now, I look forward to teaching band, choir, general music, or even musical theatre at multiple grade levels. I am excited to finally achieve my goal of becoming a teacher.
I have been a member of several talented community ensembles in the area including the Kaskaskia College Community Concert and Jazz Bands. I also had the opportunity to perform with the Cultural Society's orchestra and was honored to be a featured soloist.
